E3 Electrodes run much cooler, extending tip life: Electrodes run approx 1,650° F cooler than 2% thoriated at the same output energy.

Testing has shown that ignition delay with E3 actually improves over time, while thoriated tungsten begins to deteriorate after only 25 starts.
