These Professional Products CrossWind Vortec manifolds are intended for 1995 and earlier blocks using the 1996 and later Vortec (Gen 1+) cylinder heads or the Edelbrock E-Tec heads. They can also be used on 1996 and later Vortec engines, but require running a short length of heater hose from a pipe tapped hole in the front of the manifold to the 5/8 in. hose nipple on the passenger’s side of the water pump. The 1996 and later Vortec blocks do not have a water bypass in the block, and this minor modification takes care of that problem. These are one of Professional Products’ most popular street manifolds.
